Are those walls really 2-3 feet thick? Nice photos, Robert. What is the story of the building?

Hi Myra,
these walls are indeed 2-3 feet thick. They belong to the ruins of castle "Windeck" that was build in the twelfth century. It was destroyed during a siege in 1648. A few walls and a tower is all that was left. During the 1960s and 1980s its remains were conservated so that it can be visited without danger. On a cold, windy day it can be very spooky up there.

That's amazing, Robert. Your stairs certainly depict the spookiness and desolation of the castle. Thank you for sharing that information. History is fascinating.
