    I've missed you all!

Its been over 2 months since i visited the site but I've been working in the back of beyond with no internet connection (never, ever again, no matter how much they pay me....) now I'm hopelessly behind with the 52 week project..... but I'm glad to be back with you all

    Welcome back Mark.

You reminded me of a bumber sticker I read the other day: "I still miss my ex ... but my aim is improving"!

    Welcome back Mark,
Hope the back of beyond gave you some time to get your camera out.

    Area 51 AGAIN?

Or any military base; I had a friend who took a camera to an RAF station. Oh dear, it got stamped on, film pulled out, then he got stamped on and sent home.

Apparently it is not like that anymore; but it is hard to believe they became so much nicer than they was. I hardly ever did anything wrong; because when I did I got to clean the toilets and inspect them very closely.

Since it is impossible for NCO's to be nice; it is improbable that rules about camera's have been eased and will still be enforced with enthusiasm. It is not a good idea to take a camera to a military establishment unless it is an open day when the NCO's pretend to be human.

That didn't put me off applying and I did when I was sixteen and although already a pilot, was told by the Air Commodore that everybody has a good degree here, so no chance until you get one.

However; I suppose you are not allowed camera's in other places as well. At UKAEA I had to get a map signed by a superior to go to the toilet. Maybe, MI5, interesting.

What kind of job does Mark do?

    Re: I've missed you all!

I did *.*.* with film shot from the SR-71 (I only found out it was the SR-71 a few years after I did the work, and only by chance in Huntsville, AL to see the underside of the airplane and recognized a few pieces and parts) and it was only on the next to the last day of my last assignment (non-military), I actually saw the bird (though I had no clue what it was) though I never told a soul in fear they would take meinto a dank back room and burn my eyes out. Spook guys were scary people.

At the time I was doing whatever I was doing (I shall know, you shall not), secrets were a big deal and you signed on lots of dotted lines you would never tell..and I never did.
