    Hi Peter,

I like the third best, mainly because it doesn't contain the distracting background elements in No.2.
No, that's not true; I really like the tinted monochrome effect more.

You could spend a little PP time on No.2 and burn down the brighter background bits both left and right.

Unfortunately both 2 and 3 would benefit from a little more DoF in my view.
Unfortunately I can't see the EXIF to see what they were shot at.

The more I look at No.3, the more I like it

    Hope that helps,

    Hi Dave,

The EXIF for all three shots is F8 ISO 800 and (1) 1/160 (2) 1/200 and (3) 1/160. Not much I can do about the DOF but I've burnt and cloned the background to no 2,I think it looks better. i may re-shoot the clematis this evening when the sun goes down.

    Peter,

great macros. I think the colors are beautiful and you did really well capturing the essence of the flora. I must agree with Dave, I LOVE the last one. The portion of the flower closest to the lens, however, seems to be just outside the DoF. Other than that, you took some wonderful shots!

    Respectfully,
    Trey

No 3 is a cracker. The tone is very nice. The bit at lower right that is just outside the DoF is not distracting to me since the image as a whole is pleasing.
