Skates and More Skates
I haven't posted many photos lately, so I am making up for it tonight. This is from a girls' hockey tournament that took place two weeks ago. The original is of the girls in a happy huddle after one of them scored a goal. When I looked at the photo, I was struck with the "interestingness" of the legs and skates. Again, as I was using my 85 mm and was a long way from the scene, it's a tight crop.
Using ACR, the highlights and shadows were played with a bit and the clarity zoomed up to 30ish. In PP, I used another art filter (sorry, I forget which one, but I am pretty sure it was one of the brush strokes). I took out the yellows with an adjustment layer and ended up with mainly greys and the green band of their socks.

Myra,
I really like this. It is a very creative and unusual hockey portrait. I love your PP on this image...

Myra, cool photo, though I'm not totally sold on the brushed look (personal taste only).
I do like the colors and the composition - my kind of photo

Creativity in action. Vision is all. The technical stuff required to make the image comes along later! Wonderful.

Re: Skates and More Skates
Thanks for the comments. Because I had to zoom in and crop so much, what was left of the original didn't really lend itself to being a "straight" photo. However, I liked the idea of it, so played in photoshop. The brushes became a disguise for the lack of detail in the crop. Kind of like make up for me in the morning...covers things up...
