    Affordable monitor?

I'm looking for a new monitor, about 23" and not too expensive.
I don't need totally spot-on color quality so I'm not willing to go anywhere near the 1k dollar price tag.
I want colors to be reproduced quite accurately (after calibration, that is) but since I don't make money with photography, all I expect is not getting a heart attack when pictures come back from print. If there is a slight variation, I don't bother.
    Any advice?

Hi Alexander, although very plastic; the colour reproduction of this LG after calibration is considerably better than my much more expensive Samsung.

Wow... I didn't think it would be THAT affordable.
Any idea if it's bigger brother is as good?
    Thanks for the input.

See if anything in this thread I started back in January is of any use:
    looks

I can't add anything more as I'm still working on my failing monitor - cash turned out to be in short supply and remains so

    Hi Alexander

I bought my first monitor a couple of months ago after doing quite a bit of research

This really is an excellent 23" monitor for around £200
