Bonsai!
I find this Bonsai perplexing. At the bottom we have a Cotoneaster Shrub with its red berries. The tree is a Japanese Kingsville Boxwood. Here is the perplexing part, the flowers on the tree are actually Coral Bells Azalea!
How did they get the Azalea to sprout from the Boxwood tree?
C&C welcomed!

Re: Bonsai!
Hi Frank, nice image. My guess would be a graft. If the leaves next to the flowers are Contoneaster, then I do not have a clue.

Re: Bonsai!
Hi Frank,
Don't understand the technicalities of the subject, but I would blur the background for a 'presentable', rather than this as a 'query', shot - if you know what I mean.
To me it's just a pretty, small tree, I certainly don't appreciate the effort that it seems went into producing it
Cheers,

Re: Bonsai!
It is a very nice little tree Frank. Do you think that the sign on the bottom right is really necessary?

Re: Bonsai!
Thank you for the feedback, Joe, Dave and Toņo.
This is the full frame. I could crop out the sign and blur the concrete wall behind the bonsai but I was wondering if it would diminish the reality of the subject? For example, rather than just blurring the background, I could replace it with a landscape and it might almost look like a full size tree, albeit a funky one, but wouldn’t that detract from the fact that it is a bonsai?
As it is, do we need the background and sign to give the bonsai a sense of scale?
