    Very good Jim,

Did you lay in wait near the bloom or follow BiF (it's a semi-serious question)?

    Pre-focussed?

    Thanks,

    Thanks Jim,

Yes; I must give this a go myself sometime, I bought the remote release, but haven't used it yet

I'm thinking: sunny day, set up tripod looking at flower in garden, set myself up on a lounger with a beer and my finger on the button

    Hard work this photography lark

    Dave,

That sounds quite relaxing, I might try that myself one nice afternoon

Lovely shooting Jim. Nice DoF too. That lens is pretty sharp for a zoom, which model is it?

Thank you. It's the 100-400 IS.The 400 end is a little soft at 5.6,but the photos sharpen nicely.I've been shooting with it a lot the past month trying to learn the ins and outs of the lens. The more I use it the more I like it.
