A fine set of images Mark. The first one in particular really appeals to me. The autumn colours contrast nicely with the snow capped mountains and the blue water and the early morning light is nice and soft.
Needless to say, all the images are technically very good as usual.
Nicely done
Dave
A beautiful set of images! You must be really pleased with these. I know I would be!
I can't really pick a fave. They're all beautiful in their own right!
Thanks for sharing![]()
Absolutely great shots Mark, I really like the old church, great depth to the photo you can spend ages just going over it.
Cheers
J
You have some great images to go with what looks like a great road trip. Beautiful.![]()
Brilliant images Mark. I particularly like the mountain panorama and the old church.
Just a quibble really, and I would have to see if it makes any difference overall, but I might try slightly reducing the brightness on the sunlit side of the church to let the colour and rock texture be more pronounced. It really is a stunning image.
The images make it hard for me to wait for our visit to New Zealand next March for the WSAVA. My wife may find it hard to keep me in the conference halls. Maybe I could convince the BC college that my CE requirements are better met monitoring the local parks and wildlife; especially those found in Eden Park.
Very nice Mark
I really like the last image, great composition.
I hope to be headed to NZ next year.
One of the nicest sets of images I've seen Mark!
All have a great sense of depth and each one is a pleasure in its own right.
Mark,
I'm planning a photog vacation with you real soon. Call you when I get there![]()
Mark,
great set. Well done.![]()
They look great Mark. You should have called in for a visit!
Kevin
No worries mate - pm if ever you are coming our way.
No, not mine Donald. It's a pretty iconic NZ scene. I was hoping to do a star trails photo with the church as the foreground feature, but I never found the energy to make the 200km round trip at night. Maybe next time. When I took this picture, I had been waiting for about 45 minutes in case the sun peeped through the clouds. As it happened the moment it came out the local vicar was standing in the doorway with a prospective bride and groom. I politely asked them if they wouldn't mind moving inside for me. The vicar thought I was a commercial landscape photographer and wanted to know what company I worked for. No doubt they see the taking of commercial photographs as having some income potential. I don't know if I was expected to make a small donation. I would imagine it would be a top spot for weddings. The view from inside the church is spectacular. It's also quite small so you'd have an excuse not to invite all the prospective inlaws/outlaws.
I thought I heard the rattle of a collection of lenses flying over the other day!
Yes - good thanks Mark. Still waiting on my ST-E3-RT, but tracking had it flying over your parts today -- so hopefully I'll get it tomorrow (fingers crossed). With a bit of luck we might bother see the 1Dx before the end of the decade ...
