Abstract self-portrait
Hey all,
Here's two I took of myself. I don't feel I have quite nailed it yet but it's a really fun idea.

Re: Abstract self-portrait
Hi Jason,
Interesting ...
Now expand this line of thought as you try to "nail it";
Think about here the lights are in relation to your reflection
Think about sympathetic background behind the tripod to hide it more
Perhaps without the fingers in shot?
Really off the wall idea;
would a 'two spoons' reflection invert image again and remove the distortions?
Good luck,

Re: Abstract self-portrait
Depending how able you are in editing it could possibly be a case for focus stacking with you getting the reflection in the spoon more in focus as one shot and the rest as another and combining them in editing. I agree with Dave about watching your background .. better in the B&W one than the colour shot, so it is possible ...But the B&W though interesting with the un-sharp sparkle from the second spoon is a "two shot" composition and odd numbers are better than even groups ... some people think this is important so I avoid evens for odds. You might like to balance the spoon with bluetack on a 'pole' out of sight below the spoon so your fingers are not in shot.
Altogether an interesting and fun exercise you have set yourself.

I think having a hand holding the spoon might work if you can get everything in sharp focus and with good exposure.
