In that case, that's definitely the best one!
I am no portraitist so am always reluctant to offer comment on such images. But the lighting on that first one looks, to me, to be creating a sort-of flat, featureless image. There are no shadows to give us definition and shape

I think the hair is an integral part of the first composition and this almost works, but I'd like to see the complete neck line of his shirt (as we have in second).
On the second, without the hair detail, I feel it needs a serious crop, I think we could lose the top 30% (of blackness) and have a more compelling composition.
There is a recommended method in this post for downsizing before posting. (but with a portrait, you might want to "go easy" on the final sharpening)
