Beautiful study Colin. Your adherence to the rules of composition are impeccable. Thirds in the vertical appear measured and the corner of the pier dead centre. It is easy to see why these rules exist when you look at an image like this every thing is comfortable to the eye.

I just saw this picture. I must say this is what I really want to capture in the seaside over here. The reflection is amazing.
1. Point lens at wharf
2. Focus (if possible)
3. Take shot
4. Post-process

Actually, it was just a throw-away shot - I'd finished shooting "the cut" and "Haulashore Island - Revisited" when I noticed the wharf behind me. I didn't think it was worth shooting, but the camera chose a white-balance setting that pretty much presented it to me as you see here and of course I immediately thought "Ok - this obviously IS going to work" - so I re-composed slightly - took the shot - and viola
