I am no expert but the beauty of this shot is that it captures a lovely natural fun moment.

You could go for a closer crop all around and crop/ clone out the table in the foreground and the light switches and the fan to concentrate on the beautiful twosome.

I think it is a very nice photograph for the family album. As Sharon writes, it captures a beautiful moment.

As a picture for wider public viewing, I think the key message to take from this is - 'Always remember the background'. There is so much clutter that the image becomes very disjointed.

And I agree also. The expression of the chld and the obvious love from the grandmother make this a picture you will value forever.

Photographically, the clutered BG interferes with the image. Additionally, the reflection of the leather couch attracts my attention away from the main subjects as does the overly bright feet of the chld...

Perhaps, you could improve this image by a bit of judicious cropping, burning-in, and cloning...

I agree with the earlier comments and Richard's version encompasses them all, although personally I'd have left just a few more pixels above her head with the crop, he's done a good job there.
