Searching for a SanDisk Memory STick PRO Australian Supplier
My Sony DSCH1 is 6 yrs. old. I want to buy a second (hopefully bigger), memory stick, but the new sticks aren't compatible.
Anyone know of a supplier of this SanDisk PRO only (PRO-Duo won't work).

Re: Searching for a SanDisk Memory STick PRO Australian Supplier
Hi Carole,
MemoryStick PRO is a Sony initiative, so you might have more luck looking at Sony suppliers?
Pro Duo is a smaller stick, but you can get an adaptor that the Pro Duo slides into that makes it the same dimension as a PRO - and I'd like to think that it should work.
I think that MS PRO only goes to 1GB - after that point PRO stops and ProDuo carries on, but it's been a while since I've used their products, do the old memory is a bit hazy I'm afraid.
Be a little careful buying "Sandisk" products ... Sandisk themselves are fantastic, but they're probably THE single most counterfeighted manufacturer on the planet when it come to flash media ... so be sure to only buy from reputable sources.

thankyou Colin for your response. Interesting re the adaptor that you mention. I had phoned today the company I'd bought the camera, and this memory stick, and they only had the Duo but hadn't suggested an adaptor at all. I will look into it; much appreciated.

No worries Carole ... reason I know about them is that I used to have one.

Re: Searching for a SanDisk Memory STick PRO Australian Supplier
Hi Carole, I have the Sony DSC-H1 as well and I can use the Sandisk 1 GB Memory Stick PRO as well as the Sandisk Ultra II 4 GB PRO Duo with the Sandisk Ultra II PRO Duo adapter which came in the same package as the Duo.
I had tried a different PRO Duo and adapter and found that although the Duo was good, the adapter didn't make good contact in the camera and was unreliable. I'd recommend testing the Duo and adapter in the store before purchase as I had to do to verify compatibility.
Hope this helps.

Re: Thankyou for your comments
Thankyou both, Mahn England, and Frank Miller. Frank, it's so good to contact with someone who uses the same camera and has found the solution with the Sandisk/adapter solution. It has given me some confidence that I can at least do this. Regards to you both for leaving your comments.
