Great grey owl
In a park near Stockholm. Far from its normal habitat in the far north of Sweden.

Re: Great grey owl
It was sitting calmly, abt 50 feet from the footpath, and was not disturbed in the least when we stopped and raised our cameras. Almost seemed to enjoy posing. Wish all birds were this accommodating..
The hard part could have been knowing it was there, but the birding lists had been buzzing about this find for days, and a fellow birder at a nearby birding spot gave is detailed and up to date directions.

Re: Great grey owl
A supurb capture, Lennart!
As the tree trunk has a higher contrast than the owl it appears to be sharper. Being both sharp and large, it is taking attention away from the owl, particularly as it has the same basic colouring! It might give the owl more prominence if you could apply some Local Contrast Enhancement to just the owl and reduce the contrast on the tree trunk. It might not hurt to apply some mild lens blur to the trunk as well so that the eye tends to focus more on the owl. Hope this helps!
