Very imaginitive viewpoint. I like it quite a lot. When reading your title, I was wondering how they got a church to go through a gate...
Hi Pat,
I like the rich textures of the stone and brick, but for me, having both the gate and church in sharp focus confuses what the main subject is. I think the composition might be stronger if the church was more out-of-focus so the attention would be on the gate and arch. The church looks like it has wonderful stained glass windows that would make a beautiful photo(s). My ancestors came from Cork in the 1840s; a beautiful country with friendly people.

Pretty. Amazing depth of field. Is that HDR, or just a narrow aperature on a bright day?
I like this type of shot, Pat. This image just needs a slight clockwise rotation to restore the verticals.

Hi Folks,
Thank you for your thoughts,
I get it Colin, Paul this church dates from around the 14 hundreds and resides in a town called Youghal in the County of Cork.
Scott, just a narrow aperture on a bright day.
Best Wishes, Pat
Hi Pat, this is a fine image indeed!
Not being familiar with this scene and not seeing any EXIF data I was just thinking that this is one of those situations where, if you wanted to see more of the church through the gate, a wider angle lens should give you that opportunity to experiment with the composition.
