Re: Ballerina's foot in high key
Now, that is a very clever idea, wonderfully well executed.
A couple of points for me, Mel:
- There area some marks (I think they may be on the floor where she is standing), particularly in the bottom left section of the image. I wonder if it would be worth cloning them out?
- The one bit I'm not sure works so well is seeing that bare part of her leg. Not because it's not a very nice leg, but it does introduce a 4th, narrower, layer into the scene. We have the shoe, the sock and then the main leg covering (what's it called - trouser; training pants...?). In the middle we have this smaller part of flesh. But this is probably all a matter of personal taste. As I say above, the concept and its execution are super.

Mel, A very nice shot. I would love to see it without the sock...

Mel i like this shot good imagination, I would love to come up with ideas like this.
One thought from a beginner. I would like to see what it looks like in black and white, don't know if it would work.
Just thinking out loud

Re: Ballerina's foot in high key
Thanks Donald, Richard, and Glenn for the comments. I have a similar shot without the warmer or trouser and the sock in monochrome and I entered that in the weekly monochrome contest about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Fortunately, it won.
Yup I need to clone the dark spots on the floor. Thanks again and regards from Manila Philippines

Re: Ballerina's foot in high key
Congratulations on winning the competition, so i guess that answers my question, as to whether it would look good, in b&w
