Where's all the water gone?

Hi all,
I'm still working on my basic composition; this picture is from last weeks outing, but I've only just processed it. I like the B&W conversion, so I thought I would see what you guy's thought of it.

I have tried to give it a 'dark' moody feel, not sure if I've over done it.

C&C always welcome.

A crop that allows more space for that lovely wee boat in the front,,,, some playing with depth and tones for the rest and you have a good image,

If composition is your main concern here, I have a feeling that less would be more in this photo. What would it look like if you cropped away the whole right half of the image. This would leave only three boats, arranged in a pleasing curve. Want to try it?

thank you both for your comments. I have tried another edit and wonder if you think this is better.

I think, John, I would try something between those two extremes.

Possibly crop you those two boats on the far right, leaving 5 in total, and a similar amount from the top if you wanted to retain the same size ratio. Then increase the highlights a little but leave some fairly dark shadows.
