OK all you birders - I've succumbed to the temptation ...

Been trying to get one of these for a while and I struck it lucky this afternoon - a Blue Faced Honey Eater which I think is an Australian native.

Great work Dave, this is a hard bird to photograph being a honey eater (they don't sit still). Very sharp and great colour. You are in a fantastic location for birding so lets see some more.

Yes Wayne I took about a dozen shots one after the other in attempt to get a good pose. They certainly dont sit still for long.

Superb shot imho, all the elements worked in really well.

Birding is a rewarding experience. Even if we come back with nothing, the long walks and close attention to our surroundings brings us a better understanding of nature and something more enduring - exercise. I will go on a bird shoot any day instead of spending the same time in a gym.
