    Skunk bug

Not sure what it is called but people tell me that it lets off a powerful stink bomb when threatened. Until I get an ID will just call it a "Skunk Bug"

Would like to hear your thoughts on the crops and orientation of 1 and 2. Which works better?

    Thanks.

    2. Same shot, different crop and orientation.

They are all good photo,s Bobo but my pick would be #2.
The horizontal orientation just seems less cramped than the vertical one to me.
Amazing colours in the little beastie guess it has to make up for the fact that it smells.
Your shots are nice and sharp. What lens are you using.
    Cheers Greg

Looking at the 'exhaust ports' on the last shot, I'd call it a "V12" bug

I wonder if they are where 'the stink' comes out?

#2 for me too, although #4 is fascinating

Clean, clear images with very distinctive patterns and colors. I like # 2 best but would have cropped it so that it was just a bit more on an angle. Very nice, Bobo. Is this one from your Asian trips or from closer to Ontario?

    Lovely pictures indeed.

He looks to me to be a relative or a strain of a Shield Bug.
