That first image is superb Sharon, and while I don't get an "Oriental" impression, the
background + flower colors really blend well.
Sharon I have to admit that affected by your title when the image was loaded at first I saw an oriental dancer to later reveal the flower. I like the feeling.
Absolute works or art. I marvel at how you can visualise things in this manner and coming up with results which do not destroy the main subject.
I tried to do a Sharon effect the other day but do not dare post it for fear of being laughed off the board.

i think first picture match the title but the second one is also good.nice job
I like them Sharon, if I had to guess I would say Peonies. Your images remind me of Oriental Art I have of birds and butterflies I have, the old parchment look.
Can I be awkward?
In terms of the artistry, these are, I think, amongst the best works, if not the best, that you have shown on here. But ...........
Do you think that first one should move a 'smidgeon' to the right so that the leaf isn't hard up against the edge of the frame?
Thank you everyone....much appreciated.
Agree totally with you Donald, it would improve it greatly but it was bang up against something I couldn't clone out so I just had to crop it that tight or lose it...or as it is sometimes called...
User failure!
Nice work Sharon. I like the first one best. Nice save.
Thanks Paul....the bane of working in a tiny space I keep asking for a proper studio but then again, I love the light where I am.
ohhh..and no one is listening anyway!!!
The first one has really caught my eye and this is my third trip to look at it. A great work of art and I agree with all it is the best I have seen of your work. I am just trying to get started posting on other folks posts sorry I haven't done it sooner.
You are kind Donald.....I'll add the word 'scunnered' from this corner!
and Carl, thank you so very much.
Gorgeous just does seem the right word for that first image, Sharon... sensual and delightful... I think Donald has a point (duh!) about the top leaf - though I know it's pedantry, I wonder if it would improve it just to crop in a tad on the left so the leaf tip doesn't end just off the edge of the photo... like 2mm (on my monitor!) or less...
That's not to detract, though... it's a beautiful picture
(and... is it a peony? or carnation?)
Ian
You are truly an artist with vision, Sharon. I haven't been here long, but I've already learned to keep an eye out for your posts. This one certainly doesn't disappoint.
Sheesht..am choost a lassagie wi a camera..but thank you.
Donald as ever is the master in these things with sage advice and a gentle manner.
