    I am new to this site.What i can see grossly is that pic is not sharp.It may be due to movement or focusing problem.Was it taken by a handheld camera?Another thing is due to harsh light details are lost.I think experts will give u appropriate advice for imorovement.Good try.

    It's a matter of personal preferences, but for my tastes, this is overcooked. The color and luminance in the middle look very unnatural. However, perhaps that is your intent.

    Overcooked was the word that flew to my mind too. Bruce... ease up on the PP and give the flower a chance to shine.

    Thank you for all your comments. This rose was edited in LR, and it was my intent to alter the original pic.
    The pic was not handheld - shot on a tripod using natural light.
    In regards to sharpness you can see the veins in the petals upon magnification in LR 4
    Is t possible that with editing you increase the noise?
