Yellow Field #1
This does not herald a conversion to colour landscape work.
I always think that colour images should be about colour and the fields of rape seed (to make rape seed oil) are in full bloom at the moment. So, I thought I'd see what I could produce.
Your thoughts are always welcomed.

It is so difficult to get fields full of 'flowers' to look good. But you have certainly managed it with this shot.

That's one gorgeous golden field Donald..and the hill in the background
with other cultivated crops really shows off the landscape of the area.
So...are you switching to more color images than B&W..?

Have always held the belief that great artists can only let the demons out into their art when they are not in control of their senses. Donald is definitely under the influence of something strong, rum perhaps or had a hard knock to the head!
How else can a b/w guy come up with a super colour shot? Definitely under the influence!!!

Magic shot. Great composition and brilliant capture of colours. So real I feel I could almost step into frame and stroll through the crop towards the hill, taking in the countyside.
Just one thing. We Down Under are not allowed to call it "rape" seed. PCness demands of us that we refer to it as Canola.

What a wonderful image Donald. The field, the trees and the hill in the background make a stunning combination.
Well done. I believe you are correct that a B&W image of this would not due justice.

Thank you for your comments.
I didn't know that, in some other countries, it is not acceptable to use the word 'rape' as the name for the crop. I had never heard the name 'canola'.
Mike - Rest assured that this is not my abandoning the belief in the strength of B & W. Normal service shall be resumed shortly! This one and the second in the series of two which I have just posted here, were, for me, all about colour and I wanted to see if I could make reasonable images based on that premise. It wasn't so much about lines, shapes or texture (although each remains relevant) in the same way as, I believe, B & W has got to be all about. These were about colour.
