New to CIC

Hi there,
I am a new member to CIC.
Googled around for tutorials on photography and found this site. Must say I am impressed by the tutorials, have already learned a lot. That is why I joined this community, to learn.
Photography has been a hobby of mine for about 30 years. Started out with a Topcon SLR back in 1980.
In 1983 I had my equipment redisrtibuted to the previously disadvantaged, as most South Africans have to do from time to time with valuables.
The Topcon was replaced with a Pentax, can't remember the model. It was one of those with auto focus.
My first digital camera was an HP 850. My wife almost had the fits because I paid so much for a camera.
A Canon video camera followed. One of those with Hi8 tapes.
Then I bought my wife a Panasonic DMC TZ2. Quite an impressive little tool.
Last year I bought myself a SONY HX100V. This sparked a new passion for photography. Now I want to know more and more and my desire is to take better and better photographs, not merely snapshots.

I believe digital has opened up a new world for amature photographers. I am very excited about how digital has advanced in the last couple of years. Just imagine what the future holds.

Now hope I will find my feet in CIC and learn all I need to know from other members.

Welcome on board Andre. It's a really good and friendly site and as you've already found the tutorials are excellent. I don't visit nearly as often as I'd like. Post some images for us.

Welcome to the CiC forums from me, great to have you join and I see you're upto to four posts as I type this reply, so you're obviously getting the hang of posting.

Posting images for constructive critique is the best way to improve your photography here, and these threads may help you get the most from that.

As I said I have already learned a lot from CIC. It was here where I discovered what HDR really is. My camera has a function for HDR but I never knew what it really meant. Now I discovered it and I am going crazy with it. No PP to achieve HDR, simply strait out of the camera and this is what it looks like.
