Sorry for not posting for a while as I've had trouble uploading.
Being a male lion is tough, after the hardship of growing up and fighting to be the dominant male he rules for a few years then struggles to maintain his dominance against younger and stronger lions before finally ending up alone.

Hi Rebecca, many thanks for the reply and comments. As this was taken he was looking so intently at three lionesses which were stalking a herd of buffalo on the flood plain that he never paid us any attention at all. My wife and I sat with him for about an hour before the light gave way and we had to return to our camp.
