polarizing filter for canon s5is
friends! i am a newbee. can any one advice me about polarizing filter for canon s5is for use in manual mode?

Hi "docsaro",
and welcome.
I'm not sure the lens on the Canon S5IS has a conventional filter thread, so it may not be possible without bodging something.
There is talk on the review site linked above of removing a "dress ring", which seems to allow access to some bayonet lugs to attach lens adaptors, but this probably won't help either.
If you do get a filter, make sure it is a circular polariser (CPL), not a linear one.
