24-70mm f/2.8 Canon, Tamron and Sigma compared

I am not going to make any recommendations based on this YouTube review, nor am I going to judge whether the review has been done in a way that actually portrays the capabilities of these three lenses. Since I am a 1.6x shooter and my go-to lens is the 17-55mm f/2.8 IS lens, I was not as interested in this review as I would be if I were a full frame shooter trying to decide what my mid-range zoom should be.

However, for those who are interested in a comparison of these three lenses, here is the review. Make your own decisions...

    Hi Richard
    thanks for the link!
I 'll not on the market in the very next few month for this kind of lens, but I will jump to FF soon or later..
so I found some interesting reviews of these 3 also at http://www.photozone.de/canon_eos_ff
    and on http://www.slrgear.com/reviews/showcat.php/cat/2
even if not so coherent between them
    hope this helps readers...

    cheers

    Richard,

thanks for posting this. I am a 1.6x shooter as well, but I find this focal length range extremely useful. My go-to lens for indoor candids of people is a Tamron 28-75. I've had my eye on the new Tamron 24-70, less for the VC (although that would be nice) than for the full-time manual focusing. However, for now, I can't justify the $1300 and the large increase in weight.

    Dan
