Nice subject and colour George!
I would try to use a smaller Aperture (perhaps around F8?) to increase the DoF and get the entire center in focus. Unless the wind is blowing the flower around, you should be able to use a slower shutter speed to compensate without having to raise the ISO.
I often visit the local garden centre to get lovely images like this one.
