Lenses

Hi all

I am having another go at photography (having used a compact for years) after many years and still have some lenses in a drawer from when i owned an SLR camera. Can these same lenses be used on digital SLR cameras?

Can you let us know what camera and lenses you have. The details of the lenses in particular would be useful.

Some old lenses will fit current DSLRs easily, eg all Pentax K mount lenses from the mid-1970s onwards will fit Pentax DSLRs. A large number of Canon and Nikon lenses will fit Canon and Nikon DSLRs, but I believe some early ones will not. If I'm wrong I'm sure others will be along to give the a better answer.

With older lenses you will lose some or all of the auto functions which may, or may not, be important.

But a few more details about what equipment you have will be helpful.

thanks for the info, unfortunately lenses and i are in different locations but will take to the shop when i buy a new camera very soon,
