Hi from South Carolina
Hi. My name is Shanen and I am obviously new to the site. I have enjoyed taking photos for about 15 years and only in the past 4 years have I taken some professional looking photos, most of family and friends. I found this site while trying to look for tutorials on things like how to better use my camera, lighting and different types of poses.
I am going to school for accounting and will be taking courses for photography too.

As you can now see, your name and location are sitting alongside your post in the side bar. Well done. The signature facility only becomes available after you've made, I think it is, 10 posts. So, once you reach that number go back into settings and you should see an 'Edit Signature' option.
And welcome to CiC from me as well. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Shanen,
Welcome to the CiC forums from me, great to have you with us.
Can I ask what camera and lens(es) you are shooting with?
... and which subjects you prefer when not shooting portraits?
All the best,

Re: Hi from South Carolina
i think that my equipment is pretty basic right now. I have a nikon d3000 with a 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6g lens, i also have a wide angle(.43x), fisheye(.42x), and telephoto(2.2x) lens for the nikon camera. I also have a cannon rebel xs eos with two lens es 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 and a 18-55mm.
I love taking pictures of almost anything, but people are easier for me. I love taking scenic pictures but sometimes I get disappointed because I am lacking depth.
