Old railroad car
An old railroad car in Marietta, Ohio, that has seen better days.

Re: Old railroad car
Nice image, Don
Is that an HDR image with some mild tone-mapping? I guess it would be too much to ask you to risk jail by pulling out the tarp and the boundary tape and reshoot. Tone-mapping renders some very interesting effects on metal surfaces, and I am not of the current fashion of dismissing the technique out of hand. It's an artistic form that we need to experiment with to find its most effective expression. Thanks for sharing this, I'd love to see more of your work with this

Re: Old railroad car
Hi Don,
As a railway (notice the English influence) engineer I can see the beauty, well maybe not, but virtue in the car. It is very interesting. Do you know what it was used for?
The undercoat and surface rust and the old bogies, sorry trucks, look great even the tarpaulin under the car. The background looks a bit cheerful though. Have a look at Ryogenetic's photos in Automobile 101, he has a really good post showing how to translocate cars to another place. If you feel up to it this image is worth all of the work.
