Yes, I am well aware of that. The question remained un-answered for eight years but nevertheless a response may be of interest to someone here, I thought.

I take it then that answering old posts is frowned upon! If so, what is the acceptable time limit?

I wouldn't suggest that it is frowned upon, but when the person hasn't shown up in quite some time, not necessarily worth the effort.

Like many of your own posts, mine was intended to be read by us all - not just the respondee.

I considered it worth the effort, especially for those interested in IR work.

In such cases, however, it does look from your response that we best go to all the trouble of spelling it out so as to avoid being jumped on by someone.

For example:

"Even though Darius posted the above quote 8 years ago and even though checking his history reveals that he last posted here 2 years ago, I though that this response might be of interest to those who are interested in IR but are puzzled as to why warm bodies don't show up in their IR or Full Spectrum shots"

Pardon the slight sarcasm. :D
