Hi Sharon,
I so wish to comment on this work of yours. I started a thread asking "Why so much PP". (Read it if you wish)
Now this is absolutely beautiful, it would look great in an art gallery. Did you actually take a photograph of the Poppy and then did the rest in PP or did you take a photograph of a work of art of yours? How did you do this?
I can't say great shot, it is simply a great piece of art.
Absolutely gorgeous, Sharon. The muted pastels are terrific!
Two small quibbles: The lower left corner displays a diagonal line that conntects to a bulbous shape. (The two parts may actually be a plant.) The extreme top area in the very center displays a shape resembling a cartoon of a man with a large nose, heavily recessed eyes and very droopy jowels. Both are a bit too realistic for the otherwise wonderfully abstract background.
Mike... are you teasing me or have you been at the bottle darlin'? ( meant totally in jest my friend) It's a simple ink wash..you may want to discuss what you are seeing with someone who does Rorschach test analysis...i can't see it. lol.
Andre..yes , I took the photo of the poppies in my garden this afternoon and overlaid the photo of the wash. I am glad you think it is a great piece of art.. but it is also simply a merger of 2 of my shots...not extensive PP .
I liked the colours..I think my favourite combination is a sort of 'Eau de nil' and candy pink...
I'm actually very serious. Though I have been at the wine bottle at the moment I am writing this, that's long after I made my observations of your gorgeous image. The really funny thing is that I couldn't identify any hint of realism in a cloud formation or patterns in the stars if my life depended on it. For some odd reason, the two things that I identified in your image immediately jumped out at me. Go figure.
And darlin' doesn't make it compared to dahlin'. You're excused if you haven't ever visited the Deep South in the U. S.
Haaa Mike...well let me say that here in Scotland ( and Ireland) 'darlin' is seen as warm and affectionate where 'dahlin' is seen as fake, showy and insincere
So count your 'darlin' s as blessings....I don't give them out willy -nilly!
Still cannae see yer scary man though.
...and to think my mother said that I had a vivid imagination!
Nah..leave it up Mike...this thread has long since lost it's integrity
Sharon, I will say "great shot and great piece of art"
Mike does have a vivid imagination.
Thank you kindly Jon.
I would like to say how much I like this, Sharon, as I do so much of your work. But considering how many admirers have already weighed in, I'm thinking maybe I should hold back, lest all the adulation go to your head.
Hang on to this one Sharon. first it was "The Scream" now we got the "Scary Skull"
