Sorry for the mistake: 2.9 is due to appear in a near future and will be followed by 2.10!
When I use the clone tool, I usually enlarge the picture 100 or even 200% in order to view the details. If I then move across the enlarged picture, this movement is "sluggish". My system is: Windows 7-64 bits, 6 gigas RAM, 4 core intel Pentium.
This problem never happened with 2.6.12. This has been reported by several other Gimp users. There has also been a problem with the "Liquid rescale" plugin: I got in touch with Carlo Baldassi who brought the appropriate correction to the installation sheet. No doubt that these small problems will be solved in 2.9 or 2.10 !

I'm new to the world digital processing but so far I'm using DPP for RAW then Elements 9. And I've just installed a trial version of the Topaz bundle with a thought to possibly purchasing one or two of the individual plug-ins.

    Guy,

Yes, I know there are some minor issues, and probably a bugfix version of 2.8 given that the dev-team has always been good about that. The performance of the canvas drawing is a known issue, though I don't know if anyone knows how soon it will be fixed.

wow Robin, these are the best post-processed images with Nik Snapseed i've ever seen! It looks like you've spent a way long time post processing with Silver Efex Pro for my eyes - congrats.

    Greetings
