Roses are frequently photographed; but in my opinion, they rarely work well. However, this shot, and from that angle, has something which most rose photos seem unable to capture.
Thanks Geoff.
When I got fit enough after the Cancer surgery I explored my world bit by little bit...strength allowing
This bloom was in my neighbours garden and still is now...we are survivors , both altered ..both older.. but mostly..both still here!
Beside the lovely rose, what I really appreciate is the story behind the shot. I always believe that every image we take is a reflection of our inner self and how we feel at certain moments in time, Sharon. I somehow was able to understand why you tried to keep the delicacy of the rose on your image instead of pumping up the color, saturation, and sharpness as all of us might probably recommend to you. I hope you are feeling better now. Continue to use your photography as a tool for your recovery as it did on mine.
Kind regards,
Jiro
Thank you both.
Nice, I like it Sharon. A change from the textures you have been using in post processing.
Thanks Joe.......I only use textures or PP if i feel they have something to add to the story
Nancy's rose is an annual event and can stand alone.
Great texture, great color, soooo natural--fabulous work Sharon!
Sharon,
An inspiring photo. Thank you for sharing it.
(And, writing as someone who tries to grow roses, it was nice to see no sign of bugs or black spot on your neighbour's rose!)
Thanks guys.
I am glad to hear it is such a healthy specimen Bruce.
