    Thanks for the votes!

Thanks everyone, I thought all the photos here were good!

A couple of things about my photo (Paddle to the Sky):

    1. This came straight from the camera; the only post-processing was in the camera itself (because I took the photo as a JPEG instead of RAW...I have to get out of that habit!). I don't have Photoshop but I do have Lightroom; I used Lightroom only to save the file down to a smaller size for uploading to the Web. I took this one morning after spending the night with some friends who have a cabin near Craftsbury Common, Vermont. I woke up early and walked outside to find the pond as smooth as a mirror, and when I saw the clouds reflected in the water by the canoe I ran back inside to get the camera. I took six or seven photos, including this one, which gives the best impression of the canoe and dock seemingly floating in the sky.

    2. The camera itself was nothing special: a Canon G9, which has the same tiny sensor as a point-and-shoot camera but has full manual control and ability to shoot in RAW, etc. The G9 was my only camera from 2007 until earlier this year, and I was generally impressed with the quality of the photos (except of course in low light conditions).

    Thanks, Tina!

Here are three of the other photos I took that morning, none of which were as effective as the one I chose, but they show the amazing mirror effect of the pond and the incredible light that made me run back inside to get the camera.

Here's the first one I took, walking toward the canoe:

Then this one, which is similar to the one I chose but not as well framed:

And then this one, also not a great composition but you see more of what's going on in the sky.
