Katz Eye focus screen
I'm considering buying and installing a Katz Eye focus screen on my Nikon D 7000. Does anyone have experience with the Katz Eye product?
Did you install it yourself?
Lastly, did you opt for the "OptiBrite™ Brightness Enhancement Treatment"?
Thank you for your input.

Re: Katz Eye focus screen
I have one in my 50D, and I swapped it myself, but then, the 50D has the interchangeable focus screen feature, so it was simply clicking a latched door. I didn't go for the OptiBrite. And, frankly, I find on my 5DMkII, that I actually prefer using the Canon "super-precision" matte screen. The split circle and prism collar are nice, but the Canon -s screen results in just as accurate MF, and I don't have to worry about the collar blacking out with slower f/5.6 lenses. YMMV.

Re: Katz Eye focus screen
Hi Ed,
You might find these useful:
- Focusing Screen.com for D7000 (I think they're a bit cheaper than KatzEye)
- Thread at Photozone discussing manual focusing and use(fulness) of different focus screens - see, particularly, Wim's post (#16)
