    New toy!

Well, the long awaited call finally came through (8 months on the waiting list). I picked up the 1DX yesterday.
Massive camera. Very heavy. At last a quick control screen on a 1D body. The focal points are more 7D ish than like the previous 1D's (not bright red)- this will take a bit of getting used to. The AI servo focus settings have been simplified. The ISO sensitivity is stunning. The first shot I took at ISO 12800 looked better than my 1D iv at 3200. Tons and tons of features and customisation options. Now I have to just get used to the button layout and set it up for my own preferences. I'll post a few pics later - I'm pretty busy at work this week dealing with a backlog of surgery from when I was away and I'm working this weekend. Aaargh!!

    Mark,

Just a "FYI" - I did a little speed test last night with the 1000x CF card ... was getting a LOT more shots in the burst than the camera predicted and "Holy Cr^p" it clears the buffer fast.

If you're needing any of this for your sport photography then I can heartily recommend it!
