All of them are very nice but I especially like the first one. I could look at it forever with all the layers, the strong, imaginary diagonal line between the boat and the lighthouse, the depth of field, the light. Really terrific!
The timing of your post is such a coincidence. I was actually thinking yesterday of writing you and Donald to ask about the name of a particular village that I visited 10 years ago. I woke up this morning, saw this thread about Plockton, and voila, that's the village! Now I've got just one more village to identify. Maybe you'll visit it on this trip too.
Thank you so much Mike. Skye seemed well suited to mono treatment but Plockton ( as you will know) is a buzz of beautiful colours.
Throw out some clues on your as yet unidentified village and you never know!
Loch Lomond and Lochearnhead spring to mind.

Thanks, Sharon. I'll go through the links to determine if something clearly identifies the village I was in.
If your wife had your credit card and you went home broke..it was most certainly Loch Lomond.
Shopping..shopping...shopping..lots of lovely shops.
I'm the luckiest husband in the world, Sharon; my wife hates shopping and has no fondness for diamonds. I'm pretty sure the village was near a loch but not on its shore.
Yes, Bernard! You narrowed down Sharon's information and I am absolutely able to confirm everything, as the two of you led me to finding an image on the Internet of the exact same houses that I captured there. One of those houses is presented at With thanks to Sharon (Daisey May) and Bernard (Benjy)
Finally, I am no longer hijacking Sharon's thread! Yikes!
Thank you so much Donald...there was nowhere to park up and get that view so I jumped out of the car and only had a little time to frame things up but it was such a delightful scene. Hope I did it justice.
