Interesting plants - St. Thomas, USVI
I took these shots with my Sony p&s on vacation a couple of weeks ago (before I got my Nikon) - c&c welcome.
I don't know what kind of plant this is, but it looked interesting.
Again, I don't know what this is, but it looked cool to me.
These were both taken from the patio of our room, just after a rain shower. I used aperture priority and set it as low as it would go (f4 for these shots). Sharpened them up in photoshop cs6.

The top looks like the leaves of a hosta. Don't know what the second is . . . Both look fantastic. What is the pinkish color to the right of the first image?

You are correct - the top plant is a hosta. I still don't know what the bottom one is. The pinkish area in the right of the first shot is part of the wall of the condo right by the plant. I'll have to crop that out
