The blazing sun was killing me but no way was I going to miss these shots. Thought that the sun on their backs and shining through the wings would make some great shots. Not all that great this time but will keep trying.

I like #3. I might have cropped it a little closer, because one of the things I love about the shot is the eyes.

Closer crop is possible but I think that a suitable amount of blank sky is required to balance the size the bird.

Not to worry, one of these days I WILL get one nice and close without selling the car or getting a 800.

But that is the sort of attitude that's sometimes required. And, on the evidence we have, it was worth it.

Thanks Joe - I was tracking him and knew he would come in just between me and the sun but fired off that shot blind so as not to have the sun hit me directly in the eyes. Luckily he kept his path and height.
