It should be illegal to post such beautiful images without telling us exactly where they are. I'm guessing that at least the first two are in Zion Canyon National Park.

Mike, you are right about Zion... Numbers 1,2 and 3 are from Zion proper, #5 is from the Kolob Canyon area of Zion which is north of the portion of the park most visited and is accessed from the Kolob Canyon entrance to Zion; located along Interstate-15, between Cedar City and Hurricane, Utah. The aspens were shot on the road between the Panguich, Utah and Cedar Breaks National Monument.

It is a chancy thing finding the aspens in color. A lot has to do with the altitude and the weather.

I absolutely love Utah and think that it is one of the most beautiful states in the entire nation. I posted this one before but, this is my favorite shot of Utah and was taken looking toward the Southern entrance of Zion Naional Park at an opportune viewpoint and parking spot. I was lucky to hit it at the right time of day...

You may have been lucky enough to come upon that last scene, but you were clearly skilled enough to take advantage of it. Gotta like all those layers and the rim light at the top of the uppermost layer.

Everywhere you drive in Utah (especially Southern Utah East of I-15) there is magnificent secenery and there are often convenient pull outs to enable you to safely stop and shoot. I don't remember exactly where these pictures were taken but, I think they were on the road to Yankee Meadows...

This was taken in the very late afternoon on the road through Red Canyon, between Panguich and Bryce Canyon.

Those are so awesome. Makes me want to load up and go to Utah. I think the first one is my favorite.

Beautiful images ,richard. Very nice compositions on all of them. With all those different colors of rock, utah would look good in b&w as well as color.
