I Eat Crickets

Just a quick shot out of my phone. Did the usual in lightroom 4.

I'm really starting to appreciate my phone camera now. It could be better in a lot of ways, but I got the shot I wanted.

Presuming the critters are the intended dominant element, I wonder if a crop to include only the two lizards on the right including just enough of the sign to keep "I eat-crickets" (without the partial s) might keep your story and really allow us to take worthy note of the lizards without other distractions?

I like the composition in mine, I wanted to get the three of them, and some writing on the glass to show the pet store atmosphere. I also find that cropping the JPGs from the phone really starts to break down the image.

I understand, and tried to take that option into consideration with the 2nd edit. I certainly agree that camera phones can give surprisingly good results sometimes. Just trying to help a little.

I still think phones are overrated as cameras, but they can be a convenience.

I would use my cell phone to document a traffic accident which I was involved in; or a revolution which I was stuck in the midst of without a camera. However, I just cannot see any other time I would use my cell phone as a camera. Perhaps the erruption of a volcano might be another reason to use my cell phone. However, with the exception of the traffic accident which could happen close to home any revolutions (hopefully) or volcano erruptions (definitely) I was involved in would happen while I was traveling and I always have a real camera with me when I travel...


I don't like explaining away the quality of imagery that I shot...
