Rendezvous Still Life
I was taking pictures of the camps at the Rendezvous when I saw this basket and thought it looked neat.
I took it in raw and converted to b&W. CC always appreciated.
Redo as suggested below
Canon 40D, EF 24-105 f/4L IS USM
f8.0,1/200, ISO 125, focal length 50.mm

That, I think, is a good image. It's a very good still life study of light and shade.
I wondered whether it might be worth just slightly darkening that large light area behind the basket so that more attention is thrown onto the basket and its contents?

Hi, Muriel
I like this image. Not sure what program you use for PP'ing, but I think you could gain a bit more texture by bringing down the highlights on the taters and melon

I agree with the others on both the compliments and suggestions for improvements. The image is so nice that it deserves devoting a bit more time to it.

Thanks I will work a bit more on it. The light area to the left if the side of the tent. Will try to tone a bit.

Re: Rendezvous Still Live
Ok I think I did what you suggested. I think I like the original one better. Let me know what I did wrong.
Thanks so much for your input

Hi, Muriel
I thnk you are very close to having what you want here. I like your highlight adjustment on the basket itself, but prefer the higher contrast shot of the flag and the wider crop of the first. Nice shot overall.
