Home Downstairs
I'm a little self-conscious about sharing an image in front of such good photographers, but I like this conversion and wondered if you might agree or have suggestions on how to make this better. I thought it was a nice mood, rather liked the composition, but couldnt get rid of the "crunchy" look in the gravel. Thanks for helping me.

Re: Home Downstairs
Ruby I like the image very much, you are right the gravel, wall and the bench have that as you call it "crunchy" look. It appears to me that it may be over sharpened. To be able to suggestion, could you tell us what programs you use to do the image with. That you help go a long ways as to suggestions of what can or could have been done.
Cheers:
Allan

Re: Home Downstairs
Thank you, Allan
I shot this with a pretty good P&S, in JPEG, with no additional sharpening. I use LR4 for PP. With this 2nd attempt, I decreased the sharpness, clarity, highlights, and exposure a smidge in the areas of concern. I think it's a little better. I also added a color version that I processed with a mild Orton effect
