Grasshopper
I think he is a grasshopper, please correct me if not. Thanks.
He was so well hidden in that vegetation that I would not have seen him if he had not moved.

Yes Bobo, a grasshopper. Crickets have much longer antennae.
Perfectly designed for merging into the background, as these photos demonstrate. They watch your every movement while being well camouflaged themselves.

You did very well in capturing the detail in the grasshopper. Image also has pleasing colors to me. Because the grasshopper blends in so well with his background, I tried cropping your images to see if it would be easier to find him. Here are the results. See how you like them - or not.

Thanks Ken, you are right about the crops. I was probably trying to show too much ie the plants and the bug. Yours isolates the subject very nicely.
