That is a strangely haunting image and it is very well done.
The image of tree and of her eyes are both good in their own right. And the blending is very good.
Innovative and imaginative.

Thanks, I've been nit picking over the blending, but at some point one just has to stop.
Her eyes are actually a beautiful shade of green/ble, but I didn't think would work quite as well as just black with the tree bark
ooh, I have a gum tree bark shot tho . . . . .
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Your photo is creative and interesting.

I really like what you've done Gretchen. My only suggestion would be to play around with different frames. I'm not sure but to my eye the border you've chosen doesn't really compliment the subject. As with everything though it all comes down to personal preference, and you have the final say.

Karm and Wendy --thanks!!
Wendy, I know, frames are such a hard decision. I probably should insert another that would be a matte on the inside. Or make the brown more of a wood grain. I'll see what I can come up with. What would you like to see? A metal frame perhaps?
Ahhh, I should know better than to make a comment when I don't really have a suggestion. I used to play around with frames a lot and when push came to shove I always came back to something relatively simple. Here is an example of what sort of works for me. I say sort of because I'm not sure about the "inner glow" thing. I don't usually use it but thought it might work with this one. What would you like to see? A metal frame perhaps?
If I were to print this and frame it, I think I would go with a neutral coloured mat and a plain black frame, or perhaps as you suggested chrome or metalic. I'd have to see it.
Anyway, here is an example of what I mean by keeping it simple (except for the glow)
Note: it looks best in the lyte box against a black background which is why I would probably use a black frame
Wendy
Wendy, yes, I always like white. It used to be my default for everything and I thought I should change . . ..
I like what you did!
Thanks.
Thanks, David.
(ggt blushes)
Vey neat job... I wonder if inclusion of lips would have done anything for or against the image?
Well, technically a tree's lips are it's roots . . . .
I think it would have been projecting "humanness" onto the tree --which is not what I wanted to do. Maybe, if the expression was correct .. I dont' know . . .
