Okay, I know we all like to set up a spectacular image, but that's taking it a bit far!
It's so cool how the smoke is coming out from under the eaves and going up the roof when their is hardly either left! It's as if you captured the barn just before it was about to collapse. It almost looks like it is moving --very cool. Fire is so bizarre.
Thanks for sharing.
The first one is especially nice. Great job!
Cool Fire? I see what you mean, Philip. But I'm way behind the times as well.
This scene just goes to show that you should never go anywhere without a camera.
A real barn burner. Hope it was a training exercise.
The first image is spectacular!!!!
First one is spectacular. Hope nothing got hurt/killed.
ahhhhh! the science of it, the way fire works --I find it very cool --fascinating--even cooler to catch it "on film" pixels, whatever. You can't be THAT old . . .
The first picture will probably be giving me nightmares! LOL.
A thought provoking image for me.... our barn burnt down when I was young. It was the first time Ican remember seeing my father cry. I love an image that produce a 30 year old memory. There seems to be an awesome power in photography that we tend to overlook in search of the "perfect shot" lol I guess I am rambling , just wanted to say thanks for posting this Bob.
I agree - the first one is stunning
Just a thought - looking at the final image with the out of focus blue flowers in the foeground. It might have been interesting to shoot with those in focus and the remains of the fire in the background. or alterantively stop down from f3.5 and get everything in focus.
I just think that the contrast between the delicate blue life and the remains of the fire might have been interesting.
