ACCEPTING ENTRIES: Monochrome Mini Competition #618

This is a monochrome-themed competition that is open to all CiC members.

ENTERING. Add your MONOCHROME/B&W image in a new post below. Make sure to change your post title to a name for your picture (click the "Go Advanced" button). Only one entry per person, and any tinted images should utilize no more than one color. For help posting images, go here.

VOTING. When this competition reaches 10 entries, a poll will be automatically added and any member may then vote. After 2 days, voting ends and the winner is determined.

Once voting begins, a new competition will be automatically started.

    Good luck!

Notes: Please do not request feedback or comment on other images until after voting has closed, as it could be unfair to other entrants. Photos must be your own, and never entered into one of our prior competitions. We also ask that only recently taken or edited photos be used as entries (in the spirit of motivating everyone to continually improve).

PS: Make sure to also vote on the previous competition here.

    Re: Break Time

    Hi Wendy...

I love images of people like your "Break Time"...

I was wrong in my belief that the Amish don't use cars because cars are not referenced in the Bible. That is an erroneous belief that I have been corrected from.

As recommended, I did some research on the Amish way of life. This Lancaster, PA website has a good explanations regarding the Amish use and non-use of motorized vehicles as well as their beliefs on the use of modern equipment...

I like this image because it portrays a way of life, and it also shows what seem to be the contradictions in that way of life.

I am under the impression that the Amish or Mennonites do not use motorized vehicles because there is no reference to that type of transportation in the Bible. However, I wonder where the reference to plastic water jugs and pneumatic rubber tires can be found in the Bible? Perhaps in "The Book of Walmart"?
Thanks Richard, glad you like the shot.

I'm thinking you should read up a bit more on Mennonites or in this case one of many sects of Amish Mennonites before commenting. Methinks you might not know what you are talking about. I surely do respect your photography critique though.

    Wendy
