A Rose is a Rose
Been sometime since I last posted anything here but that don't mean I don't drop in to read and see what's going. Got around to do some photo shooting with my new EF 28-135mm glass I just got for my Cannon T3, I have mix feelings about it but over all I'm happy with it. Here a shot I took with the EF 28-135mm. C&C is always welcome.

Re: A Rose is a Rose
Hi Paul, I think the rose is a beautiful image. Nice detail, nice color and exposure. That said I think the crop is a little too tight, more negative space around the rose would be a better composition.

Thanks Joe. Yes I must say in looking at it now I think I did over crop some

Re: A Rose is a Rose
pretty, pretty! I'm neutral on the crop. I like it dramatic, and a rose can be very dramatic. What if you increased the shadows and highlights just a bit?

Re: A Rose is a Rose
I did play around with it some in Lightshop but in the end I left it just about how it was shot.

A beautifully simple capture, Gertrude Stein was right.

I also like everything about this image except the overly tight crop. I generally like tight crops, so consider my dislike of this crop in that context.

Paul...I just tripped over your picture here. Really like it with the frame.

Why don't you get attribution for it ? :/ Seems unfair.
