This is exactly the kind of natural behavior that would inspire the celtic knotwork artists of old and new! Just wonderful to have seen it in your photograph!!! There is also a probably a yoga posture named for it!! LOL.

I'm constantly amazed at both the natural world and how things I would never have seen for myself or know existed that are brought to us by photographs. Thanks so much for sharing this!

I wish my hands still worked, I really want to do some knotwork with this guy and don't like what I've been able to do in photoshop --it's just not the same as pen and ink.

I love his black feet --you did a great job!!! Wow, just WOW!

Thank you so much Gretchen, I am so pleased that my image inspired what you wrote. I photograph many birds, Florida has many natural areas that attract them. Having so many normal shots of birds I now try to catch them doing unusual things. It is such a joy to combine a love of nature and natural things with photography. Again thank you for commenting.
